LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, November 3, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Actor Yorke G. Fryer soars as the voice of hope Abram in the original sci-fi drama series Extinct, resurging in the Top 10 television shows on Prime Video nine years after it first premiered on BYUtv. Fryer stars in the 10-episode series which debuted in 2017 but recently resurfaced as high as No. 5 on the platforms most-watched television titles.
From acclaimed sci-fi writer Orson Scott Card (Ender’s Game) and New York Times bestselling author Aaron Johnston, Extinct takes place 400 years after the extinction of humanity when three ‘Reborns’ awaken in a post-apocalyptic world. Uncertain about who brought them back or why, they must navigate their unfamiliar surroundings while at the same time discovering that they are not alone on the planet Earth.
A grandfather in his previous life, Abram (Fryer) is restored to the prime of his youth but retains the wisdom of his older years and becomes the Reborns’ de facto spiritual counselor. With a steadfast nature, Abram often provides a voice of hope when the group’s circumstances are bleakest.
Fryer shines in the action-packed series starring alongside Chad Michael Collins, Matthew Bellows, Jake Stormoen and Victoria Atkin. “I got into acting because art and film have the power to change lives and perspectives for the good. Extinct truly does that,” shares Fryer. “With the world’s distractions stripped away, Abram and his fellow reborns re-discover the most important things in life – friendship, family, hope, and love. And they’re willing to fight for those things, even on behalf of people they’ve just met. Being Abram was the gift of a lifetime.”
Beyond Extinct, audiences will recognize Fryer from his many notable roles. His television appearances include stints on popular shows such as How to Get Away With Murder, NCIS and Heart of Dixie, as well as starring in the celebrated indie comedy series Kombucha Cure. His films credits include Accepted, Things Never Said and A Walk With Grace. Millions of gamers will also identify his voice from the mega-hit video games Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto V.
A Kansas City area native, Fryer earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in playwriting and directing from Southern Methodist University. He has starred on some of the best stages in the country, including the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Utah Shakespeare Festival and numerous others. As a producer, Fryer has several on projects in the works, including Secret Song and Orangeburg.
