Veteran FPGA and SoC security expert brings more than three decades of experience in anti-tamper, COMSEC and trusted semiconductor technology
BENNETTSVILLE, SC, UNITED STATES, August 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Delta Fringe™ today announced that Ed Peterson has joined the company’s Strategic Advisory Board, bringing more than 30 years of experience in embedded security, trusted electronics, FPGA and SoC security, military communications and advanced semiconductor technology.
Peterson holds 12 U.S. patents related to FPGA and SoC security and has spent much of his career working on technologies where security cannot simply be added after the design is complete.
Most recently, Peterson served as a Principal Engineer within Lattice Semiconductor’s product planning organization, where he helped identify security requirements for future FPGA devices. Previously, he served as the Anti-Tamper technical lead within the Xilinx/AMD Security Center of Excellence. His career also includes development of advanced military communications systems at L-3 Communications and COMSEC products at Motorola’s Government Electronics Group, including work involving Type-1 and FIPS 140 security certifications.

Peterson’s appointment further strengthens the security and assurance expertise represented on the Delta Fringe Strategic Advisory Board. The board is intentionally structured as a working group of experienced outside leaders who can challenge assumptions, identify emerging threats and opportunities, and provide perspective as increasingly sophisticated semiconductor technology moves into national-security applications.
Peterson graduated with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Engineering with a BSEE and is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
